Wedding Decorations and Tips

Idea  To Decorate A Wedding

Since the day of your nuptials will be among the most important days of your life it is critical to get every part right. Color images will trigger images of whole, fantastic scenes from the event. You can spend a small fortune or just a little bit and still make your day look fabulous. Learn how to decorate a wedding, from car to reception.

There are several ways to go about getting tips. Many on-line resources will point you in the right direction. Even a few images may go a long way, or spark an idea of your own. Try the local library or book store for references by decoration and wedding planning experts, brainstorm with friends or visit a wedding display at the mall.

Your car will be the first to get regal treatment. Traditionalists might say pom-pom flowers, streamers and the words Just Married written across the rear window are ideal. Try window crayons made for children and designed to come off of the window without too much effort. Custom-made decals will also work: just ask at a store that specializes in signage. These days, in an effort to keep rubbish and plastic off of the streets, think about paper products which will break down more easily than plastic and tie paper flowers to side mirrors and hood ornaments rather than using tape. This will cause less damage to the car and probably be more effective.

A wedding venue of any sort can benefit from a bit of decoration. Again, streamers work beautifully, but be sure to find out what sorts of flowers will be in the bridal bouquet. Depending on where you get hitched, there might be the possibility of an outdoor setting with gazebo, ribbons strung at the ends of chair rows, and exotic floral arrangements to match the wedding flowers and clothes of the bridal party.

The reception site is your prime location for decorating. Here a decorator can get enthusiastic. Chairs, tables, door frames, windows and ceilings: all can be made to draw attention and admiring glances, until the bride walks in. Then every eye should be on her and her beau.

Start with chairs. Using a variety with gaps along the back and long, thin rods running horizontally or past the top back rests offers the best opportunity for tying items. Pick a theme or color first. Use that throughout without getting too busy. Simple is usually best and often least expensive.

Now, select a medium. Work with flowers or ribbons. Try tying scarves or lengths of fabric onto the backs of chairs. Pick out one or perhaps two dominant colors as your base.

For tables, cloths and runners are obvious elements to consider. Use them in new ways by draping them at angles, or in layers of alternating color. Select centerpieces made out of visually stunning but unusual flowers, greenery, perhaps three-dimensional art such as wood carvings or blown glass. Even edible items could work well if you prefer less clean-up: each table simply consumes their attractive goodies. Where possible, maybe incorporate guest gifts into this central part, items which can be separated and handed out.
