When it's time to plan a party, what makes is super special is the party supplies that is used to create a memorable atmosphere. It's always more enjoyable when friends and family are there to enjoy the fantastic displays and decorations as well. Determining what to purchase will depend on what sort of party it is going to be; birthday, holiday, graduation, or just for the fun of it. Creating a list of what is needed before heading to the store is the easiest way to be sure all supplies is purchased.

Birthday Parties - Depending on the age of the child, you might be able to have the child help planning a birthday party out. Sometimes it's more fun for the birthday guest to not be involved with the decorating, just so it is a nice surprise. There are many supply stores that offer everything imaginable for a birthday party; dinnerware, tablecloths, streamers, horns, balloons, napkins, pinatas, party favors, confetti, and the supplies to create any display desired.

The age and what the birthday boy/girl likes is going to help in deciding what the decorations should be. Decorating the house, or wherever the party is going to be, can be a huge endeavor. Make sure to have plenty of time and help for this project. Gathering all the supplies before the decorating starts is easiest, this way the majority of what is needed is at hand. If there seems to be anything missing once the decorating begins, it's easiest to make a list of what is missing and purchase those items together.

Holiday Parties - The type of supplies will vary with the holiday season and most supply houses keep plenty of decorations up to date. A Christmas party could have a small tree as the centerpiece, with a toy train circling the tree as well. This adds a festiveness to the atmosphere, especially when there are tiny twinkle lights draped all over the table. Tufts of pillow stuffing or batting can be spread over parts of the table to simulate snow. This looks great when some silver glitter is added in a fine layer over it.

A Halloween party is excellent fun for kids and adults alike. What makes these even more fun is when everyone has to arrive in costume. This combined with fantastic decorations, spooky sounds on the CD player or Halloween music, and a fog machine can make for an exciting gathering. The supplies needed for these parties can vary between simple to over the top. Decorating with some purple lights and Jack-O-Lanterns strategically placed around the room can be all that is needed.

A party for any holiday can be a memorable one, with the right supplies. Even an Easter party can be highly entertaining. St. Patrick's Day is the most fun for those that love the color green. Decorating with shamrocks, pots of gold, and the occasional leprechaun can make the room very festive. Fourth of July parties are filled with dangling red, white, and blue streamers in the doorways and around the edges of the room. A centerpiece of small flags and tinsel-tipped toothpicks is simple but attractive.

Graduation Parties - Whether it's a party for a high school graduate, college graduate, or for someone who has just received their PhD, the supplies needed for these parties are usually very simple. This time is mainly filled with food and for the gathering of family and friends. There isn't the need for party favors to be decided upon or invites to create. This is generally a party that happens after the ceremony for the recent graduate has already taken place.

Since food is usually the main centerpiece for this event, creating a nice table display will be greatly appreciated. There are many supply places that sell confetti in the shape of graduation caps, diplomas, and with the year that the graduation is occurring. These can be sprinkled around the table between the serving dishes. A centerpiece that is some sort of card holder might be a good idea as well, since many people that attend a graduation party will bring a card of congratulations for the graduate.

"For The Fun Of It" Parties - There doesn't have to be a special reason to have a party. Sometimes it's just fun to decorate the house and invite a bunch of friends over to have dinner together. Decorating can be a few simple streamers and balloons or a lavishly created table display. It will depend on the budget, desire of the decorator, and how much time is alloted for the event to take place. There's no sense in gathering party supplies in a rush and then being too tired to even have the party.
