How To Light Up Your Wedding

Lighting is an important aspect of any type of party. The more special the occasion, the more important lighting can be. A wedding is one of the most important occasions in anyone's life. Here are a few tips on how to light up your wedding.

Wedding lighting comes in two distinct parts. One part is for the ceremony while the other part is for the reception. The ceremony should be brightly lit so that everyone can see the bride. After all, she is the most important person in the room. Most venues offer standard overhead lights that meet the needs of this phase of the event.

The reception, on the other hand can be lit in any way the couple desires. It is not uncommon to make use of standard lighting during the meal if one is served. Following this, the lights are generally dimmed to create a more intimate setting. There are several ways to accomplish this.

Candles on the tables are often used to make the setting feel warm and intimate. Depending upon the theme of the event, candles may also be used for the primary lighting by placing them in chandeliers that hang from the ceiling and/or in wall sconces.

Another type of lighting that is commonly used is string lights. These may be strung along the walls and ceiling or placed so that they create paths and walkways within the party venue. These have the advantage of being available in many different shapes and colors. Floral patterns are often used when lighting up a wedding reception.

Indirect lighting fixtures that mount on the walls and produce light of a particular color are used as well. These produce a sort of glow that permeates the room and turns everything the color that is produced. Blue and pink are common colors.

One may also use lamps that sit on the tables and produce the glow that lights up the scene. Many use LEDs to produce lighting of different colors. Others make use of standard bulbs. These may include shades of different colors in order to create the desired atmosphere.

Chinese lanterns of various designs are also good choices when deciding how to light up your wedding. These may be in the form of paper spheres, kite lanterns, floating lanterns that contain candles and float on a body of water, or table top versions. Authentic ones contain candles, but some modern variations use LEDs to produce the desired glow.
